Distributing donation boxes to almost 2000 families can be a daunting task. This year the Salvation Army expects to do just that, with the helps of dozens of volunteers including the associates at Provident Partners Commercial, a local commercial real estate firm. PPC was able to broker a short-term lease for the collection and distribution site with one of their clients that had space available and will be there to help pass out boxes.
"Our company is dedicated to the community and to this organization that is so important to our area. We'd like to encourage others to come out and join us." said Nate Harbertson, PPC partner and realtor. Along with the gifts collected through the Christmas Angel card program, the donation boxes include clothing and shoes for families in need throughout the Ogden area. Salvation Army will have approximately 6000 Angel Cards hanging on trees in stores around the area, with information about what that child hopes to receive for Christmas. The public can buy the gifts and either return them to that store or take them directly to the Salvation Army. Distribution will take place on Dec. 19-20, and 22-23, at 200 W. 33rd St. For more information contact Major Richard Green or Karen Lovelady at the Ogden Salvation Army, 801-621-3580.
